| so i am grasping at the concept of "practicing" God's presence. taking the fact that God is already here, in our midst, and continually living life knowing He's right there. i guess it's a concept i've known for a while, but walking in it is totally different. brother lawrence believed that "it is a serious mistake to think of our prayer time as being different from any other. our actions should unite us with God when we are involved in our daily activities, just as our prayer unites us with Him in our quiet time." that resounded in my spirit. so often i beat myself up for setting aside a specific prayer time, when in reality, all day i had been lifting up small prayers here and there. i can't remember the person, but it was said of them that "he did not pray for more than 5 minutes at a time, but he never went 5 minutes without praying" (or something like that).
God, i pray for your presence, that it's tangible, and that i would believe that you are ever-present. build my faith Lord, let my daily activities bless you and give you glory. let me not live a minute without your presence. oh Lord, do not be far.
